Shine On Harvest Moon
(1908)

Music: Nora Bayes-Norworth
Lyrics: Jack Norworth
Arr: Merv Rowley & Ruth Randle, 2012

This popular Tin Pan Alley tune is a favorite of many and has brought smiles and tears to listeners for over a century.  It continues to be performed and recorded even today, in the 21st century. It was composed by a vaudeville team - two young people who were already married, and perhaps recounting their own recollections of the "courting " process. Love comes at any time of year, but Summer is more appealing than Autumn. This tune is certain to bring back memories for many. The Historical Link gives many details of the history of this tune, and its original sheet music cover.
