Let Me Call You Sweetheart

 Words: Beth Whitson
Music: Leo Friedman
Arr: Merv Rowley/Ruth Randle 2012

This month's selection has a most remarkable history. It is the second of only two songs written by these composers, the other being Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland. These two young folks became millionaires from the sale of two songs, and retired! Only about 5 or 6 other songs (out of many thousands written) achieved sales of over a million copies.

We are pleased to present this month "the best of the best", America's all-time favorite love-song, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, arranged for the mountain dulcimer in a 1-3-5 tuning. It appears here with both verses of its long-forgotten introductory lyrics. We feel sure readers will enjoy this 100+ year-old American classic, an old barbershop quartet favorite.

Your 1-3-5 Team
